Location: Takatsuki, Osaka, Japan

I'm a university student and belong to karate circle in the university. I like sports very much. In my junior high school and high school days, I belonged to volleyball club, and track and field club. I enjoyed both of them, and now I like watching these sports on TV. I also like animals and have a dog and 7 Japanese killifish. I want to have a cat, too. However, my father don't like cats, and my dog, Rug, will chase the cat. So I will not be able to have any cat...

Gion festival and a cool guy

In my circle, there is an Italian exchange student. His name is Alex, and he is 25 years old. He has three brothers, and one of them has come to Japan for sight seeing. His name is Max, and he came to see our practice. I was very excited because he was really cool! At first, I thought he was older than me, but actually, he was three years younger than me!

After we practiced karate, I, Alex, Max, and a senior, Emiko went to Kyoto to enjoy Gion festival. I had never been to the festival, though I had lived in Osaka for 19 years. We got off train at Shijyo station, and there were many people. None of us had ever been to Gion festival, so we didn’t know that booths were very far from Shijyo. Therefore, though we were tired because of practice, we walked about twenty or thirty minutes. I was so hungry that I thought that I would die… We ate frankfurter, yakisoba, a shaved ice with syrup on the top, and fried chicken. After that, Alex and Max tried dipping for goldfish. They couldn’t catch any goldfish, though they tried three or four times. I told them that they could use the frame of the tool (a ring of plastic or wire with filmy paper). I thought that I could catch at least one goldfish if I tried three or four times… Maybe some Japanese kids are experts. We got to Shijyo at 9 o’clock, so we didn’t have much time to enjoy the festival. However, Max seemed to enjoy the festival because he had never experienced Japanese festival. He took pictures with many strangers, for example girls in yukata, a policeman, and a policeman with a body shield and helmet.

Every year, I watched a portable shrine of the festival on TV, so I wanted to see it actually. However, I will watch it on TV this year, too, because on Tuesday, I have an examination and a report…

I hope that I will not watch a portable shrine on TV next year or the year after next.

I wrote about LOVE PSYCHEDELICO that is my favorit band, before, but there is another band that I like very much. It is BUMP OF CHICKEN!!! On July 21th, they release a single "Planetarium," and I listened to it on the radio and recorded it on a MD yesterday. It is so nice that I'm listening to it many times.
The words of their songs are very nice and like a story, and you will be moved only by them. Motoo Fujiwara who is the leader of BUMP OF CHICKEN writes words. He is so skinny that he sometimes looks dying, but his voice is very nice!!!! I like his voice. Listen to his voice, and read words of their songs!

One final word, BUMP OF CHICKEN doesn't mean a node of a chook, though some people may know the meaning.

On the next semester (maybe), one of my friends in K.G.U. who have been to the same scooles as mine since we were junior high school students, leave Japan to study abroad for three month. Her name is Aya, and she started to write a blog in English by her self! I was surprised to know that at first because I write a post only once a week... I have thought that I should write more, but exactly one post a week... I should imitate her.
Her blog's name is ☆TEAM SPIRIT☆If you are interested in it, visit it! (though I think my classmates are busy until the term of examination...)

Mika vs....

After I took a bath, I went to the kitchen to get something to drink. I finished it and intended to go to the kitchen sink to wash a cup. Then I saw something cross quickly in front of me and realized what it was. It was a COCKROACH!!! I shuddered to see it and couldn't move. Both I and it didn't move for a while, but I became cool and thought that I must kill it. Since I had nothing to beat it, I moved to get something. Then it moved, too, and ran into backside of a box in a corner. I didn't want to lose sight of it, so I drubed and moved the box with my foot making as long distance as I could. And then it came out of the corner rustling, but it was overturned, somehow, and baffling like a pill bug. I stared at it for a while because I'd never seen such a funny scene, but thinking that it was good chance to get something to beat it, I went to a living room and found today's newspaper. I went back to the kitchen with it in a hurry hoping that nobody needed the newspaper, but I stopped moving to see the cockroach wasn't overturned any more and was watching for human moving its feelers. It was too late, and it ran into a built-in. I'll never open it. Be careful with cockroaches, their season have come...
